McLaren Vale III Associate's wines are estate grown and Squid Ink Shiraz is their signature wine. It consistently scores well into the 90 points-plus range when judged by James Halliday (Author of the Australian Wine Companion) and has some amazing International awards including a trophy at the AWC Vienna. Their Shiraz vines produce an outstanding wine of magnificent intensity. The grapes from these vines are rich deep purple almost black in colour and when handled leave a dark pigment. Complex flavours of blackberry, chocolate and spice combine with new American Oak, with fine grain tannins, that grip until the finish. Once Squid Ink takes a hold of you... Campbell Greer, Senior Winemaker, has toiled in the family vineyards since a very young age, learning from his father and helping out with pruning, harvesting and maintaining the vineyards to the highest standard. By age 18 he was employed by one of Australia's largest Wine Producers. He now works closely with friend and mentor Brian Light.
