Mount Coolum National Park, especially the green-cloaked dome of Mount Coolum, dominates the skyline of the Sunshine Coast lowlands. After rain, waterfalls cascade down steep craggy cliffs to open eucalypt forest skirting the lower slopes. Towards the summit, rare montane heath grows.
