Built on land given by Captain John Finlay Duff, it is unique in architecture, constructed on Kentish Masonry lines in 1848. St George's was the first Church of England to be consecrated in the colony by Augustus Short first Bishop of Adelaide and sadly, his baby daughter was the first burial in the churchyard two weeks after.
