Had a fabulous day thanks to Dale & a small group of other unknown travellers, who we soon got to know. Shared a lot of laughs on The Bloomfield Track...if you want a workout sit in the back seats !! Informative commentary from Dale, who is obviously passionate about the area & his tour business. Plenty of stops to stretch the legs, rehydrate, etc. Diverse, ever changing scenery, with interesting stops, especially the museum at Cooktown. A long day,....lots to take in. A safe, well organised & personable tour by the owner/driver Dale. We have been wanting to do this tour for a few years now, and have not been disappointed. A fabulous day. Thanks again Dale.

What a fantastic day! Our guide and driver Dale was very friendly, knowledgeable, entertaining and made our trip very special. Our tour from and through Cairns up to Cooktown via the Bloomfield track was amazing with spectacular scenery and some great stories on the way. It was great to stop at the Lions Den Hotel, a little piece of paradise in the middle of nowhere, staff were very friendly and the beer nice and cold. Cooktown is a beautiful spot and our tour through the town and museum was very interesting and enjoyable. Lunch at one of the local pubs was great! A stop at Black Mountain was well worth it on the way home and quite fascinating. Our trip home via the Palmer River Gold Fields and Roadhouse was also very interesting. All up a great day out with spectacular views and scenery combined with very interesting history. Thanks Dale!

We had a fabulous day with Dale. While doing the Bloomfield Track my Apple Watch has an app for fitness and at two thirds of the way along the Bloomfield Track it told me I had been exercising for 43 minutes and had done 163% of my daily exercise. By the end of the day I had done 345% of movement, 266% of daily exercise and 150% of daily standing plus 11,346 steps. What a way to exercise, just sitting in a bus on the Bloomfield Track. Aside from my phenomenal exercise, we saw three cane trains moving, I had brains for lunch and saw some great sights. Wonderful day. I recommend this day too everyone. 👏👍❤️

What a fabulous trip! The beauty of the Daintree rainforest, the adventure of the Bloomfield Track, the history of the stunning town of Cooktown and the Palmer River Goldfield, and the phenomenon which is Black Mountain. Dale was the perfect guide with a wealth of interesting information to share. A beer at the fascinating Lions Den Hotel and delicious lunch at the Top Pub in Cooktown were welcome additions. A fantastic, well rounded experience. Highly recommended!

Dale, owner/operator of Cairns to Cooktown 4WD tour, offers a superb service to his customers. We did this tour on 29 September 2021, and were picked up from our accommodation in Pam Cove. Nothing was too much trouble. Dale was very knowledgeable and provided commentary along the way. The trip up on the Bloomfield Track was easily handled by his 4WD specially built vehicle. Our fellow passengers were of similar age to us and everyone got along great. Would recommend this tour operator to everyone.

A full day of stunning, contrasting views (coastal, rainforest, rivers, creeks, mountains and settlements), diverse scenery, places and experiences. We’ll always remember: the two steep climbs on the Bloomfield Track and the first Bloomfield river view; the Cooktown museum - we weren’t too bothered about visiting, but it’s an absolute gem, full of such amazing artefacts, very visual (not too much written/reading stuff!) and we’ll laid out; the Daintree ferry crossing; the coastal views between Palm Cove and Daintree; the Grassy Hill lookout. A perfect experience, thanks to our very competent, safe chauffeur and informative, interesting guide Dale. The 4wd vehicle has very clear, elevated and unobstructed viewing windows, it’s very cool, comfortable, clean and spacious. Dale made sure we had plenty of water and good, clean loo stops and lunch was short but perfect in quality and quantity and in a great location - the old, original Cooktown Hotel. We also appreciated the Black Mtn stop, the Lions Den and Palmer River Roadhouse refreshment stops and history, as well as the stunning ‘open’ Desailly Range views. The tour is really great value for money and worth every dollar and we would do it again. We especially like the small group size.

Dale picked us up from our motel in his tour bus. Going on a small group tour is the best way to go as it makes it more of a personable experience. Dales knowledge of the areas travelled on the day made it an enjoyable day. He is friendly and down to earth. He made sure that we had plenty of photo opportunities along the way. The walk on Thornton beach was a fantastic picturesque area to stretch our legs. The trip along the Bloomfield track was bumpy. There are two ranges that have to be traversed but Dale did it with safety in mind. Stopping at the Lions Den Hotel you meet up with lovely characters of the area. Next onto Cooktown where the view from Grassy Knob Lookout made the bumpy trip worthwhile. Lunch at the Cooktown Top Pub was really delicious. The people at the pub were very friendly. Our trip back to Cairns took in Palmer River Goldfields Roadhouse were you were greeted by the owner. From there onto Mt Carbine which is a working Tungstun mine. Another stop at Bobs Lookout for more photos. Dale made sure we had plenty of opportunities. Dale was a great tour guide. He made sure everyone was looked after and included on the day.

So many amazing experiences to be able to choose just one. The day was full of amazing experiences from crossing the Daintree river by ferry to keeping an eye out for the elusive cassowary. Walking on Thornton beach, 4wd along the Bloomfield track, A rest stop at the Lions Den hotel through to Cooktown, Grassy Hill lookout gave 360 degree views of the region. James Cook museum, Black mountain, the Palmer river goldfields and Desailly range filled the day. While it was a long day it was by no means rushed. It was so good to sit back and enjoy the scenery along the way while letting our wonderful Driver Dale do all the hard work. A great dy would thoroughly recommend this trip.

What a great day, we had not done the Daintree 4WD Bloomfield track before but so glad we did it. This was a packed day from being picked up by Dale in his air conditioned mini bus at 6.30am from our hotel, Dale was so knowledgeable and an all round nice guy. With so many sights to see we headed up to Cooktown and enjoyed lunch at one of the original hotels, the Top Hotel, where we met with some interesting true Aussie characters. Visited the museum saw where Captain Cook landed then headed back via the Palmer River Goldfields. It was a long day but most enjoyable.
