Too rushed. Attractions are small and self exploring is sufficient. Suitable for old people and sightseers. Not for independent adventure minded people.

This tour gave us an hour in Richmond - a tiny old-world town with some specialist shops, for instance the chocolate and ice cream shop. It is an easy walk to the famous bridge. The next place was the wildlife sanctuary where you can see rescued animals. There are Tasmanian devils, kangaroos and other native animals. This tour would appeal to animal lovers, especially from other countries if the wish to see some Australian animals.

If you love animals this place is a must, and to think I almost didn't go. It was the highlight of my Australian tour. I went to both the daytime visit and the night time visit. The daytime visit allows you to feed the numerous kangaroos, some with joeys in their pouches. This is a good time to spend quality time with the lovable Tasmanian devils which are quite active. The staff loves to share info about the Devils and Wombats and Echidnas. The viewers really get up close to the animals. The echidnas are extremely human friendly and are as cute as can be. The gift shop is excellent. You can take close encounter pictures with a koala. The evening visit is a must since most of the animals are nocturnal. You get to touch the echidnas, blue tongue lizard, wombats as well as see the sugar gliders, quolls, wombats awake and watch them eat. Again you get to feed the kangaroos. Rather small but well worth it for it's variety, even wild possums roam the place. The birds are numerous, both caged and free flying. I'm surprised about the criticism about it not being a fancy zoo, it's an animal sanctuary and rescue that does a lot of good works. The staff is very knowledge and super friendly and if they don't know the answer they'll look it up for you. No the cages aren't fancy but they don't need to be and they're building new cages all the time.
