The Shepparton Aboriginal Street Art Project Murals were painted by well known artist Adnate, and depict the late William Cooper and the late Pastor Sir Douglas Nicholls KCVO OBE MBE, leaders who made major contributions to not just the region but Australia as a whole; and two significant past local elders Aunty Margaret Tucker (MBE), one of Australia's first female Aboriginal rights activists, and Nora "Nanny" Charles, one of the earliest and best known local Aboriginal midwives. The Aboriginal Street Art Project has been named by locals as 'Dana Djirrungana Dunguludja Yenbena-l' which means 'Proud, Strong Aborginal People' in Yorta Yorta language. This Project is in partnership with Yorta Yorta Nation Aboriginal Corporation and Rumbalara Cooperative, and is aimed at celebrating and recognising the local Aboriginal history. This Project also includes a further Street Art Mural at 70 Welsford Street, Shepparton, painted by well known artist Cam Scale, and featuring Private Daniel Cooper, a Yorta Yorta man who fought for Australia during World War 1.
